Question: how to get Garbage out of the Buildings?
Hello,

i implemented the Waste-Management in my existing republik. It works fine, and all new Garbage is going into the Garbage-Containers, located near the buildings. There it is picked up by technical service.

My question is, how iget the 'old' Garbage out of the Buildings? The technical service will not service the Buildings anymore.

Thanks for help

When that happens in my game they usually can't deliver ( dump ) some type of waste to a specific destination. And they all stop collecting all waste, those not loaded returning to the service building and refusing to ride out.

For example they want to dump biological waste but that building is not designated, full, not reachable and so on.

So 1st thing to check is all waste destinations are correctly listed, not full and reachable.

When you mouse over the mixed waste you see what composition it has.

Note that incinerators can burn plastics, hazardous waste, biological waste and mixed waste if you cannot separate these yet or there are problem with those buildings. You cannot burn metal or construction waste, if these remain in the incinerator waste it gets clogged. Then the waste trucks stop working too, as there is nowhere to dump.

If that is not it. it could be a bug.

If citizens are putting their garbage into container stands then they shouldn't be filling up their building's trash container. If the building's trash container isn't filled enough then the technical services office will not see a need to empty it.

What happens if you build the container stand after you have built the house and pwople already have moved in and started to fill the garbage bin in the house? Will teh garbage remain in the house bin? Will it pollute? Can you empty it using lines?

thanks so far.

the waste which goes into the container-stands is taken away by the tech-service, but not the waste that remained in the houses.

thats exactly how it happened:
1. i turned on wastemanagement-settings
2. i builded the stands (in realistic mode, so it took some time)
3. waste is produced in the houses
4. tech-service collects the waste in the houses
6. garbage-stands are ready, all 'new' garbage is going in the stands

=> the 'old' garbage (less than 0.12tons / max of the internal garbage-storage of the houses), that was produced between the last collection, will no longer be collected.

==> DO can't help, 'cause the houses have no road access

i can't see polution yet

The garbage in the houses won't be collected if the amount is too small. But it shouldn't cause any issues since it only causes pollution when the bin is overfilled (more than 0.12 tons). At least that's what I've observed in my republic.

Thank you! :)

did an experiment: technical services will automatically pick up overfilled containers (which cause pollution), but will ignore incomplete containers. Containers from some buildings (probably only those with a loading area, stores for example) can be picked up by assigning a route from the road depo.
