Meat gets drawn only really slowly from storage to the shopping center for whatever reason, when linked with factory connection. So if you are maxing out your large shopping center (max number of people visiting), you always get people who dont get meat. This is annoying and should be fixed.

This was mentioned some long time ago already, as it is not intended to use a direct storage-consumer connection, and the only solution is to use fork lifts. They work fine for the low amounts needed.

with all due respect i disagree...i only have 300 hours in this game but ive never had problems with meat not transferring...i mean it stayed at 0 and the meat storage stayed full...in the future i will add a forklift garage but i have never had to in the past.

yes exactly this is the only case where somehow forklifts are faster than factory connection. Not because the developer intended it, but because of what clearly is an oversight. And here again we get someone who defends the status quo as "this is the way it's meant to be"...
"its not meant for direct connection" what kind of nonesense... You can direct connect road cargo stations, and meat trucks unload as fast as possible with direct connection. No forklift required. How? It's the same connection as from storage...

KJ, I know that it's nonsense and I'm not defending it, because of it is nonsense to use forklifts for meat transfer, but the Devs stated somewhere that these direct connections are not how it should be as of now, since their functionality is a relict of the past, before Forklifts were introduced. It's easier to adapt to what it will be than to fight for something that has ceased to exist.

My whole city setup was once screwed by that change and since everything was close and tight there was no way to put in some fork lift garage + connections to get the "new" way to work.

And yes, forklifts are annoyingly slow, I don't even want to think about loading grain by factory connections having to use forklifts one day ...

For meat it's just more convenient to use a storage somewhere and then use a dedicated line, set to: "wait until unloaded" with two trucks. So one is always there. Especially since factory connections use up so much space.
