Massive lag
After playing for few minutes (fresh start, vanilla map, no mods) the game starts lagging massively, like I can't literraly move the mouse. Thought it was related to autosave but I tried saving manually and it works correctly. Need help. When the lag starts there is no hope, I must restart my computer. Verified game files - didn't help. When the lag starts I cant even turn on task manager to kill the process.

My guess is that turning off/on one monitor caused windows 11 to reset some things according to the GPU and that also reestablishes the stability.

I run in windowed mode. G-sync is set to full screen mode. Not sure about that

As I said I use Process Hacker 2 (an advanced task-manager) which shows a lot of things I don't understand. I sent them to Peter

You could try and disable G-Sync. But, with how you have set it up, that should not matter.
However, this game runs a Windows mode as a full screen borderless Window, not sure if that matters.

Hopefully you have linked Peter back to this thread.

I have not experienced this in any other game. Have you..?

This needs further testing.....

Switching off the monitor during the game-play seems to resolve this when it occurs.

BUT, running the game using the Win 7 option might also stop this from occurring. Still way too early to be sure, due to the nature of the problem.

I am using the win 7 option since that day (like 3 week now).
Just now it happened again.
Turning monitor off and on fixed it.

Strange how it can go for so long for you and the reoccur. Any particular pattern during your playing that you can relate to previous occasions of it occurring...?

Take a look at what you have running at start up with Windows.
What brand and model is your monitor, is it a Dell?

The town got bigger (again, after many people died during that cold winter with those electricity failures 10 year ago).
And I created new or cut ols road connections, always a source for chrashes,

Usually firefox and thunderbird are running (not to mention some background tasks)

ASUS VG34V (with the game) and Acer RT280K (second monitor)

I learned that ctrl-1 will reset something with the graphics. Next trime, I will try that before screwing around with the main monitor.

I have an Acer 4k and a Dell 1440p.
Since I deleted the Dell monitor management software the problem had not occurred for me.
Maybe too early to suggest that it has been resolved, but it does seem that way.
Ctrl 1, not heard of that.

Good luck. 👍

After my last message I started with win 10/11 again.
Not sure if what happened is related to this or this thread, but I played two times with that when my PC came to a total halt. And I don't mean the game freezes, no the whole system. Even ctrl-alt-del did not do anything, did not start the task manager.
I had to reset the computer (power off).
This happened two times yesterday.
Today I played in windows 7 mode again without any problems.

It is too early to draw conclusions, let's see...

Since I deleted that Dell Management software, did not know it was installed as it must have done that by Dell when installing their drivers, it has been fine. Hopefully that will continue.
Take a look under the event viewer for Windows to see why your PC locked up. You can also get something like Bluescreen Viewer to give you more clues.

Good luck.

I have nothing installed by Dell

Oh yes, the event viewer! I always forget about it, probably because I've never discovered anything useful there.
There were many errors with service "GameInput Service" (crashed, restarted).
There is another error saying that the system was shutdown unexpetced, but there are no messages or errors at the referenced time or reasonable time before.

Seems it was (also?) a hardware problem. PC does not boot anymore, we will see after repairs...

mmmm, any ideas as to what your problem is..?

Are you able to resolve this yourself..?

I removed the post from being pinned as I no longer considered this issue to be that of the WRSR but that of the game responding to something else going on with the hardware / software combination of the PC running it.

The very best wishes with your repairs.
