I run in windowed mode. G-sync is set to full screen mode. Not sure about that
As I said I use Process Hacker 2 (an advanced task-manager) which shows a lot of things I don't understand. I sent them to Peter
However, this game runs a Windows mode as a full screen borderless Window, not sure if that matters.
Hopefully you have linked Peter back to this thread.
I have not experienced this in any other game. Have you..?
Switching off the monitor during the game-play seems to resolve this when it occurs.
BUT, running the game using the Win 7 option might also stop this from occurring. Still way too early to be sure, due to the nature of the problem.
Just now it happened again.
Turning monitor off and on fixed it.
Take a look at what you have running at start up with Windows.
What brand and model is your monitor, is it a Dell?
And I created new or cut ols road connections, always a source for chrashes,
Usually firefox and thunderbird are running (not to mention some background tasks)
ASUS VG34V (with the game) and Acer RT280K (second monitor)
I learned that ctrl-1 will reset something with the graphics. Next trime, I will try that before screwing around with the main monitor.
Since I deleted the Dell monitor management software the problem had not occurred for me.
Maybe too early to suggest that it has been resolved, but it does seem that way.
Ctrl 1, not heard of that.
Good luck. 👍
Not sure if what happened is related to this or this thread, but I played two times with that when my PC came to a total halt. And I don't mean the game freezes, no the whole system. Even ctrl-alt-del did not do anything, did not start the task manager.
I had to reset the computer (power off).
This happened two times yesterday.
Today I played in windows 7 mode again without any problems.
It is too early to draw conclusions, let's see...
Take a look under the event viewer for Windows to see why your PC locked up. You can also get something like Bluescreen Viewer to give you more clues.
Good luck.
Oh yes, the event viewer! I always forget about it, probably because I've never discovered anything useful there.
There were many errors with service "GameInput Service" (crashed, restarted).
There is another error saying that the system was shutdown unexpetced, but there are no messages or errors at the referenced time or reasonable time before.
mmmm, any ideas as to what your problem is..?
Are you able to resolve this yourself..?
I removed the post from being pinned as I no longer considered this issue to be that of the WRSR but that of the game responding to something else going on with the hardware / software combination of the PC running it.
The very best wishes with your repairs.
