Is it possible to free a stuck ship?
Does anyone know if it's possible to free a ship that has got stuck in a dock?
Usually when this happens I just send it back to its home dock, but this time it has got stuck entering the dock itself, so I can't send it anywhere.
It's just circling through the piers of the dock. Is there any trick to free it?

Sorry... I think not :-( but how it stuck?.. did you changed the destination when ship landing at dock.. or any other way to get it stuck?

The ship was trying to return to its dock at the end of its schedule. This is the dock where the ship was bought, not a cargo dock.
No change of destination was made.
It has completed this route successfully many times in the past. I'm not sure what happened differently this time, but perhaps another ship was docked, so it used a different berth.
The dock is a mod, but it is still perpendicular to the shore, like the default ones. I know the routing has difficulty with the harbours that are parallel to the shore, so I don't use those.

Thanks for additional info.. maybe a bad mod.. I saw many mods which was not made like our harbors.. causing then ships to struck due to collision with building.. for example.. crane cannot be above the are for the ships etc...

There are no cranes or anything else above the ship stations. I will check on the piers, whether they overlap at all.

This has recently happened to me.

two cargo ships use the same dock. One can't enter as it thinks that the other is still there, stuck. But it isn't. This has been a recent event, shouldn't be related to the latest test build..?

I kept the save, even tho I had to sell the ship that was stuck (but not there) so that the dock showed empty and then other ships could use it.

I'm now seeing this happening quite frequently with the default small passenger dock. On all occasions this happened with very small boats.

This seems to occur when there is another boat already in the port. The approaching boat starts on the right, then because the other boat is there it turns to the left to use the other bay, but it turns too far, then does a full circle to get back to the bay. Small boats seem to get stuck in the circle and keep doing it forever.
I have modified my boat with an invisible box that makes it twice as long, and so far it hasn't got stuck. It still does the spin-round-in-a-circle thing, but only once, then successfully docks.

So Ctrl + H doesn't work with ships, and landscape editor can't free ships?

Haven't tried going into landscape editor. I'm fairly sure ctrl+H didn't work, but I'll confirm next time it happens.

Since I added the invisible box the boats are no longer going round in circles. They are now getting stuck underneath the map.
