Can't find anything on how to remove the spoiled ground texture
Is there literally anything I can do to remove the ugly ground texture that appears after you build stuff. I just want normal grass, even after using cheats to accelerate many days ahead you still have this gross gravel texture along the sides of roads and other buildings. I've hated it since day 1 of playing this game and have never been able to find a way to remove it. Any help will be hugely appreciated!

There is a "restore ground" button in the same menu where you place trees and such.

It will at first make the ground appear messed up too but shortly after it turns to how it was before you built there.

I always use that for broken up parallel dirt roads ( in order to gravel or asphalt the other one )

Is there a way to remove this annoying texture from the sides of roads though?

You can use this mod. It not change the light alone, but also the titles that causes this "ugly" look of ground:

It also helps than you set the grass details to low

The texture file of the mud is the "tiles_normal/newdesert4.dds". You can replace it with another texture, such as the normal grass texture and the mud is forever gone.

Agree, the ground should just look like plain grass, even in the narrow space between buildings and roads.

The Chernobyl miniseries was widely praised for its authentic portrayal of the visuals of Soviet life and Soviet city design: Grey, square brutalist apartment buildings separated by areas of lush greenery, in a way that creates a stark contrast. I really want that look too for my cities.

Agree'd, don't know why the devs chose to make their game look bad on purpose.

Just turn the grass settings down to low and you won't get those broken textures.

Did you save the original folders that are changed by the mod? So just copy them back.

And follow the hint that Novu also give: grass settings down to low. Make the map green again

I don't want grass settings on low though?

I just tried this actually, doesn't work how you described? The ruined texture is still there.

Thanks for the tip. I replaced the textures and now it looks perfect.
Chappie maybe you try this.
