I connected a coal mine, a steel mill and a waste powerplant through a single landfill (rails for future use to bring and burn even more garbage here), so I don't need to move most of the waste at all.
The waste stand (behind the monument) receives sorted scrap metal (from steel mills), construction waste (from the mine) and bio-waste (from workers) in quantities that trucks can handle. Thus, after burning, only ash remains. The still unfinished dumps for scattering ash are visible in the right corner.
Mines produce a lot of construction waste. But. Not far from the mines, a loading station for bulk cargo is usually needed. Add nother storage facility for bulk cargo with a conveyor to the loading station. Specify to unload construction waste into this storage facility (technical services can do this). Then consider the construction waste as ore instead of garbage and transport it by hoppers trains for recycling.
