Gas truck

I haven't played in a long time and am trying to remember how to get the gas from the customs house to the gas station. I remembered how to setup a line between the CH and the gas station but I forgot what kind of truck to buy. Would someone please remind me what kind of truck to buy. a search in guides or discussions failed to answer my question. I tried the tutorials but I am not going to go thru an entire tutorial just to get one piece of information.

You need a Oil tank category of vehicles. These are named with ''cistern'' at the end of their name normally, like the T 138 cistern.

In the UI of the truck, you'll see that it can only carry oil, bitume and fuel.

I see several t 138s but none say cistern.

I'd advise against using dedicated lines for delivering fuel to gas stations, especially if it's a 'free' gas station; it's much better to use a distribution office for this.

I don't know why you're not seeing a T 138 cistern truck; are the V3S, Skoda 706, and Renault AGK cisterns also missing (the Renault is a Western vehicle, so you'd need to select the 'purchase for dollars' option in order to find it), and can you select 'Oil Tank' as a filter option if you click on the box next to 'Filter by type'?

V3s show up but none are cisterns. None of the AGKs show up. It is 10 March 1960. Could the date be too early?

No, the date's not too early; all T 138, V3S, Skoda/Skd 706, and Renault/Rnt AGK variants are available from game start in an unmodded game.

Also, I just noticed you're trying to buy the vehicles at a Construction Office. Construction Offices cannot use cistern trucks and so do not have the option to purchase them; try buying them at a Road Depot, a Distribution Office, or a Customs House instead.

I figured it out. I forgot I need to use Distribution offices then the T 138 cistern showed up. I said I hadn't played for a while. Just a little rusty in the memory if how this game works.

There are no cisterns in that picture because they only appear in the distribution office. I had forgotten that until it crossed my mind then I was like "Oh right".

either buy an oil/cistern vehicle in the distribution office and setup a route there.
OR buy an oil/cistern vehicle in the vehicle deopt and then give it a rute from there .
I recommend doing it via the distribution office since the other method it will go from a-b all the time vs the distribution bulding it will only drive when there is a need based on the % that you select. You save allot of transport and become more effective if you use the distribution building. ;-)
