Anyone know how to scrap an airplane?

I have the large scrap yard set up just outside of a gate to the airport/runways. I don't know any other way to set it up as roads don't connect inside the airport area. I understand there is no taxiway - scrapyard direct connection. So, things are as close as can be. Still no action. What needs to be done. I've tried both sending plane to scrapyard and using the menu on the left to scrap and neither do anything. I'm stumped. A picture would do wonders.

I haven't done it yet. But I guess you have to attach a parking slot for planes close to the building so it turns green. This slot than needs a taxiway to the runway.

Yeah, I tried that. It won't turn any color. There are no videos or posts on how to do it when googled. And not much when searched here. I have been using Copilot and it's of no help.

Large scrapping facility has an area (on the side of the building, parallel to the railway tracks) like an aircraft factory. If you build a parking lot for airplanes or helicopters, the required area of the building is highlighted with green dots. When you hit it, the entire building is highlighted (on screenshot). You need such a parking lot, and a taxiway to it. Now you can send airplanes and helicopters for recycling by pointing the "home" button at this parking lot (the entire scrapping facility will be highlighted)

You may have to rebuild your scrapping facility, it seems that the parking lot will not fit on the required side

Thanks. I sent a message last night but I guess I didn't hit enter. I tried putting a scrap yard out on a flat area and attaching a pad and couldn't turn it green. Just didn't angle it just right.

Was able to connect it to the tip of building. Just can't use the rail lines on that side. No biggie.
