Powering up electric trains: is once enough?
To get power to your electric rails the first time you build the electrification railpost and connect that post up to a transformator. Is that ok then for the rest of the game (as long as other rails are connected to this point of course), or does one need to add more of such electrification posts when one is making the network longer and longer, or when one starts running more and more trains on the same track?

It depends how much power you use for your trains.

More trains = more power. You will overload it at some point, although how many I don't know, as I only tend to use diesels. You'll find out though, when they all stop working :steamhappy:

Usually they just get very very slow instead

So does adding more electrical connection s solves it?

Yes. Click on the connection and see how much power is being used, or check the voltage of any electric train on the line. Make sure the connections are not directly in line because power will not flow through a connection, and the track on one side will lose power if only one connection is powered.

Or you saying the railroad electrical connections are better built on dead ends of a rail network than build on the connecting routes directly ?

Or do you you mean that the electrical connection units themselves should not directly be next to eachother ?

I tend to put an electrical connection close to each station or depot. Probably overkill, but it works. If there is a long run between stations (say a line that runs direct from a manufacturing area to a distant border custom house) I will put one or two along the way. Since I usually have a high voltage trunk line running to the border to sell power, it is easy to put in a three-way switch and transformer to power the rail connection. My experience is that it isn't just the number of electric locos; distance also plays a role. That's why putting multiple connections in the same place might not work. I could be wrong, of course, but I have had trains not have enough power when they are too far from a connection at the start of their journey even if that connection has more than enough power.

I usually add one for each power plant and make sure there is a loop, so I usually put the connection near a warehouse or something that has come off the main line
