Because that's what I was trying, moving the cement from my plant via trucks, which is a bit further away, to the dry goods silo I built near my port and connected with the factory connections. Will it only register if it goes direct from cement plant > silo > port, not Cement plant > silo > trucked to other silo > port?
Obviously trucking is super inefficient usually, but given how slow ships are, it's otherwise plenty of time for them to move material waiting for my export ships to return, so I'm not to worried.
In theory I think I could run a conveyor line from the cement plant silo all the way here, it'd just look incredibly ugly, haha.
You can even drop it directly in the harbor.
Thats what I figured, and no cement is being added to buildings inventory which is why I'm confused - the only cement it did export was a measly 3 tonnes that my truck dropped off as ship was loading, and for some reason will not drop off any more (including rest of it's 5 tonnes being transported despite 100% unload order)
Haha will maybe tinker around tomorrow again and see if I can't figure out why it's not working.
Albeit I have the cement delivered by rail, the principle is the same....

So I wondered if maybe using the dry bulk cargo is why it wasn't working instead of a cement silo, but starting a new map just to test orientation and stuff, dock registered those products fine even on the exact same way I oriented dock like in my main save
Think I figured it out though - I had added a factory connecting intersection because of how wonky / tight the road /etc was near the dock just to get everything to fit - it's that intersection for forklifts that is interrupting games logic. It couldn't reach the dock otherwise without me deleting more stuff and was 'too long' so I kind of just crammed it in where I did and figured an intersection would be fine, where as I think I need to just have factory connection going direct from silo to dock and problem will be solved - will report back in a bit when I check, haha.
edit: Yea, the factory connection intersection I'd had to reach dock was what was interrupting games logic / awareness it was connected to a source of cement, destroying storage and replacing in a closer position it could connect without intersection fixed issue. Thanks Bballjo!
Indeed, I'll claim ownership of that, lol.
You can see how my cement silo is directly connected and all cement fully available for the ship to load.
Look at mine and then take a look at your own, make sure you are using the correct dock and ship etc.......
Screenshots are most welcomed.
Yea, I wish I'd had foresight to build all my construction stuff in general better because I'd centered it out near my quarry etc and started there and just ship everywhere else around country, but even if it were like 250m shifted over or 300ish it probably would have been able to reach the silo I built at port directly via conveyor.
I guess theres nothing stopping me from making an ugly line of conveyors anyways still to reach it, though :p Certainly be more convenient than gettin' a wee truck to move material non stop
As mentioned, posting screenshots, as I did, is somewhat helpful if you would like suggestions on what you have.
Transporting cement by rail is what I did, in the example I posted. To then be carried by ship to various places around the map. Some considerations are map dependant, others........because I like to :)
