If I want to get rid of a vehicle I send it to the vehicle storage and sell it as used.
Since I have a scrap yard I send em there instead.
Meanwhile it works automatically.
Aircraft and ships can be sold used by sending them to a depot (pad/dock) and then setting them on a line with a stop at "beyond the borders" set to "nothing."
Aircraft and ships that you make at a factory have an option in the factory to be automatically sold to beyond the borders (if there is a path), while road and railway vehicles need to be carried or towed to customs or carried to beyond the borders to be counted as "new."
