DLC ideas: SPACE RACE DLC and UTOPIA DLC
Most of the mechanics make early game harder, but late game is always a breeze. You are swimming in money with limited ability to spend it, you can expand and build more districts/industries, but then you get even more money and resources. It's like a curse, you are drowning in money and just can't get out, everything you do gives you even more money.
So what the game needs is a resource/money sink. And a space race themed DLC would be perfect for that. Huge research institutes for thousands of specialists. Huge amounts of aluminum and fuel going towards building spaceships and rockets respectively. Tonnes of concrete going into your first cosmodrome. All so you could watch a rocket rise into the sky, and complete yet another space milestone. And the best part? You aren't getting paid for this. Not a single ruble. Decades of your republic production just disappeared, and all you got is a title of FIRST REPUBLIC ON EARTH TO LAND A HUMAN ON MARS. Well, and maybe some well-deserved map-wide small loyalty bonus. And some exclusive monument to remember your achievement. But mostly just the title.
Then maybe second DLC could be a future-themed sovietpunk communist utopia. Super expensive flying cars (with a bonus of better FPS since they dont need to pathfind, they always fly point to point). Personal jetpacks (similar idea but with lower range and no parkings required, citizen-owned like computers/TVs). Vertical farms that make your republic self-sustained without having to cover entire map in fields. Super-luxurious 100% quality residences. Androids. Possibilities are endless. And all of that only available late-game because of huge research and resource requirements.

I'm with you on the former – would be very interesting.

But international prestige? Tourism attraction? :steammocking:

Does space generate tourism? I don't think so, what would tourists look at, the now-empty cosmodrome? Or would they arrive before launch to witness it? I don't think many people do that irl.

Thanks! What about a second idea, do you think it's kinda out of place?
