Edit to add:
Factory connections work on a pull basis, meaning it takes only what it needs from there, unless you overfill the warehouse in which case it would "spill over" into the internal storage.
This is unlike pumps and conveyor engines, which push stuff into the storage until that is full
then it will take the internal storage of the factory to be 3/4 or so full untill they put stuff into the warehouse.
if you load direktly from the warehouse by vehickle, they will also pull from the factories. if you load from a 3rd building that is not the case.
which is only realy a problem in the very begining, over time it becomes les of an issue.
