Mixed waste with construction waste
Hi,

on dump I have mixed waste that contains over 50% construction waste and over 20% ash.
Can anything be done with this type of mixed waste?

As a sidenote, you never want to mix your construction waste with the other types of waste that you'd feed into the incinerator because the construction waste doesn't burn and basically just bypasses the incinerator from the input into the output dump.

Most construction waste sources are gravel quarries, gravel processing plants, demolition offices and rail construction offices.

For Quarries, GPPs and RCOs, the solution is to have waste collection containers in range with Construction Waste selected for at least 3-4 containers. The Technical Services will take this clean construction waste to your CW dump of choice (preferably the input for the Gravel Recycling).

For the demolition offices, you need to target the CW dump of choice in its window and all CW from demolitions will be taken there.

Same advice applies to other non-burnable waste, such as metal scrap and aluminium scrap.

Hazardous waste is another special kind of waste generated by some factories and by hospitals. Always collect hazmat separately in dedicated containers, otherwise it will contaminate your "other" mixed waste and generate huge pollution everywhere.

You can pass it through a General Separation facility which will extract the construction waste as such. You can then feed that in to a Gravel recycling plant.

If you don't have Geneal Separator yet, you can burn mixed waste, you will get mixed waste contain ash and construction waste, ash will disperese itself and you will get glean construction waste. It doesn't work, if you have some scrap in it.

Thank You for help Lads!!!

I'll just add that you can convert some construction waste into "other" waste by putting it into mixed waste and then running it through the general separation plant. This gives you more fuel for waste power/heat plants, though "other" waste is not very good "fuel" and this creates extra ash to deal with.

Should be said though, tiny amounts of non-burnable waste that get through the incinerator are usually not an issue. When in a dump with ash, other kinds mixed in aren't supposed to decay, but apparently do when in small enough amounts, probably due to rounding. It rather becomes an issue when the ash decays completely and leaves the non-burnable waste behind, at which the waste is no longer mixed waste by definition, and thus more ash (which is by definition mixed waste) can't be added to the dump.

This is solved by simply specifying mixed waste for the incinerator's dump. Even if all the ash decays away and only metal scrap or construction waste is left, the incinerator can still put new ash into it.

Oh, I did not know that. Thank you.
