One thing to watch out for too, which I did starting out, I didn't realize certain waste trucks can only collect the large container bins, while others are capable of collecting from residential and such - it says when you hover over the truck tho and I believe too your technical office will let you know if your waste trucks are missing such capabilities
But in terms of residential connected to waste trucks, even if not connected by road, but footpath, your trucks will go to sites automatically, rather than selecting buildings, clicking the load / unload settings etc manually yourself which would take literal ages of gameplay if it wasn't automated.
If anything I'd wonder if you're maybe needing more trucks at technical services, and wonder too did you set settings for the technical services to dump stuff? Make sure you have dumps for mixed waste, hazardous waste, etc within a reasonable trips distance and set them as destinations for your truck the same way you source stuff for buildings to get their supplies and stuff from. I know I've made buildings before then completely forgot to do that haha
I'd recommend presorting as much as possible, as this greatly reduces the workload on your separation plants and you reduce the loss of the more valuable wastes (scrap metal and plastic waste) in the sorting process, but the downside is that you'll have to handle three or more waste streams from all buildings instead of only one or two.
this is 0 help and there is literally 0 useful/new information in there.
Should be obvious.
If you build a flat, forgot to build garbage containers, and the flat is 0.16 of 0.12 tons the only way to get it out is building a seperation plant, as the people won't dump that trash into the garbage container...
not gonna build a seperation plant just to move 0.16 tons of trash out of a single flat.... so they will have to live with the health risk.
Waste within skid stands will create pollution even if not overflowing, so avoid using them within residential areas.
the internal garbage container of the flat is overflowing.
