Trains are Evil
I know the game features a complicated signaling system, which is all well and good, but for such a tutorial heavy game, it really throws your to wolves when it comes to the rail system. The tutorial campaign runs you through residential areas, farming, education, and by the time you start mining coal you're feeling like it's all coming together, but then suddenly you're told to export it and all the train infrastructure along the way is totally ignored. I did go looking through the other set of tutorials on infrastructure, and it all seems reasonably enough, but for whatever reason, nothing I've tried in several runs seems to work. I still just get the train rolling back and forth with a question mark above it. I don't get it - I've done everything it said, as far as I can follow - chain signals entering a junction, single signals exiting - but the bloody trains still get confused. I send the train back to the depot to try again, but whichever end I manually set it to, it still gets confused.

How the hell is the coal mine rail system supposed to be organized? I must have tried every permutation of signals imaginable. I get the whole blocks thing - but why is the train confused? It's green in the direction of your next step! Turn around! When I click on the dialogue to point out the problem, it just shows the coal loading area, and the customs house back and forth.

I wish I could at least turn the train traffic simulation off like all the other more complicated aspects of the game so I could at least play with everything else.

A picture could help diagnose this...

Without that, my first guess is a flipped signal, which is pretty easy to spot.
The second guess could be a not connected piece of rail, that's close, but not snapped to it...this is way harder to find.

You could update the route and keep adding signals until the train refuses to keep going, then you should at least have an idea of which area is the actual problem

One thing that could be getting you if a train refuses to route to a station it should be able to reach, is if the station block itself is shorter than the train, and it wouldn't have a legal exit from said station. That got me once when I was new to the game.

You could diagnose it by checking if a very short train will follow the schedule you're trying to set.

This really happens sometime and the fact it can happen is a bug. A bad one that needs to be fixed before 1.0

Is there a looking glass in the train's window? That sometimes shows the spot where the problem is. Sometimes, it confuses even more.

I found one of those spots in the campaign a while ago.
Dunno if that got fixed meanwhile.

I show the spot in this video.
You can see it at Min.05:00 approximately.

I've got the OP's problem, I've tried everything including digging the entire network including stations out and re-laying it on the wild chance there was a microscopic bit of track missing.

That looks like needlessly over complicated . That could be done without all of that

Thanks for the critisism.
I will take that into consideration next time.

However I just wanted to show the part where the track is glitchy.

I might ad that this wasn't my save.
I just helped out another Comrade.

Honestly, i didnt have any difficulties setting up my own railway system with signaling. But i have to mention that i'd played Transport Fever 2 before i discovered W&R Soviet Republic. Being played TF 2 before helped a lot to understand how its done in W&R for me tbh.

(Sorry for kinda random comment out of nowhere, i mean if its the signaling you are struggling with in general, check out some TF 2 signaling videos online. Its quite similar to W&R -in case W&R tutorials are not that clear-)

Have you looked qt the steam guides for trains?

Make roundabouts, with trains, it works. It takes some place to settle but it work, no train that wait for ages, can send in every direction, 100% not accurate with reality but ... it works.

I'll post screenshots.

Here are the screenshots, 3 rail lines, the bauxite pick & sell, the workers for the steel industry and the train that come take the surplus prod from food + clothes.

I only have problems with constructring trains when I add a new line but it's a minor problem.
I only use the basic standard light, all trains runs on the track on the right side, like cars.
