Mines and waste?
Is a train needed to transport the waste, produced by a coal mine or a iron mine?
The description sais, that it can produce 17t of waste per day. This seem to be much when using trucks...

You have to do three things:
  • Connect the loading station to a waste transfer station.
  • Do not connect anything that generates waste to this waste transfer station; instead, deliver waste to it via truck or train.
  • Do not specify any type of waste for the cableway to haul and do not tell it to wait until loaded either.

Yeah unless you have your waste processing set up literally next door, you'll cause a lot of traffic with waste trucks. Keep in mind that the processing plant(s) also cause a lot of waste. Train is best to cart that all off. You can connect the dump with claw and rails directly to the mine and let a tech office deal with waste from processing plant (as in: cart the waste to the same dump)

OK, I start to deconstruct my transfer station for garbage trucks and a road in order to get the space for the dump with claws and trains.

Just do a heavy cableway. They are super cheap, can handle 60 tons of waste a day regardless of distance, and can be built pretty quickly.

Alternatively, set up a waste power plant nearby and burn the waste that isn't construction waste.

I never realised that cableways can carry mixed waste. Aggregate-type waste such as construction waste and scraps yeah, but the tool tip of the cargo cableway station makes no mention of mixed waste. So tried it and lo and behold they actually have "garbage cars" and it does work, indeed. What a gem! Thanks Silent_Shadow! :)

You're welcome.
Also, if you set it up right, you can have the cableway haul multiple types of waste too.

If you researche waste seperation. you can simply send the construction waste down the conceyors with a truck aggregate unloader connected to it. And deal with it where your refinement happens, which also produces mostly construction waste.
So just turn it to gravel next to the refineries and use it or sell it. there will be an aggregate trainstation and a way to transport workers there anyway in most cases, so why not make use of them for that as well.
only keep in mind there is a max limit of conveyor throuput if you got a high 90% source or feed multible mines into the same conveyor you might or might not hit a bottleneck.

the remaining waste is more manageable in mass and the cableway is a good way, specialy if you also use it to get workers to the mine, just add a couple of waste cars to the passenger cars.
i found it to work best with just connecting a container stand to both of the cableway stations and handle the rest with DO's on each end of the cableway.

Well, I like trains and it works. Thanks for the other options.

How? I've tried but couldn't do that.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This game, man... I was sure the damm cableways couldn't carry more than 1 type of waste... turns out you need to not specify any.
Thanks Silent.
