construction office and storage area?
Hello,
I would like to make a big storage area where each base only takes one element like wood, brick ect. how can I assign my construction offices to go to each separate area?
or is it absolutely necessary that there is an area with all the elements to mix?
thank you

Just select the resource in the CO's menu and assign a source to it. You can assign separate sources for each resource.
ha so can i make the desktop have multiple storage choices, to go get the materials it needs?
I did not see or not pay attention to this selection

You can have one storage area for each resource if you want. Just have to build them/fill them & assign them.
Asphalt, gravel & concrete work like this already. It's easier to have one area with multiple items when you are starting with few resources. When you have enough supply & money you are free to have a lot of big single item storage areas.

Building separate storage facilities for each resource (that you produce or physically import with your own vehicles) can help to keep everything flowing through. If you mix resources in one storage facility, you will need to plan your loading/unloading facilities very carefully, or use only distribution offices and no lines. Medium open storage is not that expensive. I would definitely recommend to build separate storages at first, until you know exactly what you are doing, logistically speaking.

However, if you (auto)buy resources at your storage yard, separate yards are not very useful, and only take up space.

Unless I'm understanding you wrong, you could just connect a road cargo station to the storage facility and massively speed up loading/unloading.

The way I understand it, the open storage facilities are much quicker at loading/unloading thanks to the crane (you can see it using power during loading/unloading) and road cargo stations are not. So either you use the medium open storage, bring by trains and take by truck, OR you use two small open storages back to back, so that both loading and unloading is done quickly.

Road cargo stations are great for warehouse goods, not so much for stuff that goes in the open storage.

Hm interesting. I was always under the impression that road cargo stations were super fast and open storage was a bit sluggish. But I've only picked up this game again after 9 months or so. Need to do a side by side comparison.
Hello,
maybe I put the question wrong, I'm sorry I go through an automatic translator.
What I would like to know, is it possible to assign as a construction center, several storage areas with different materials?
zone A (wood),
zone B brick,
ect.
for the site office to go to each specific area to pick up the item it needs. and avoid an influx of trucks. and a filling of a resource which is produced much more than another.
for the individual storage areas I know, we select a resource, as the boards and the others are refused. on the other hand, I can't find a way to tell the construction site to go find the boards there and go and find the bricks on the side

No, that's not possible.
You can have a large storage area, with bricks, planks, pre-fabricated panels, etc., but for your construction offices you can only assign an open storage where all of these materials are located.

In other words, you cannot assign your COs to different storages for planks, steel, prefabricated panels, etc., but only one open storage.
At least for the moment: the game is still in development.

I disagree on that statement.
My CO´s get their goods from different storage.

Here my CO´s get from left to right: Bricks, Prefabs, Steel, and behind the bridge planks.

To do so you can select each good in the COs menue and select a building.

so it would be possible,
we will have to see how to do it,
I guess I'm not the only ace who would make this multi-reserve option for builders easier.
I even find it odd that the game does not yet offer it

I always play this way that I produce building goods and set up a truck line which delivers the lagers for CO and on the way back drop any left over to a station for export.

I use multiple areas - each with a single resource - as soon as I can afford it, as I said above it's just about what constraints of difficulty & money you start with for me.

It is also possible to assign separate materials in different towns to a single CO.
This can be useful when building things between 2 areas already in development, connecting road & gas stations for instance.

Same.
Also for buying in materials this is helpful, e.g. trading bricks for steel at the border saves shipping costs.

Thank you very much Mr. Krabs!!!

When I bought the game, about 1 year ago, I asked the exact same question as Locutus, in a thread that talked about COs.
The answer I got was the one I gave here to Locutus.

I just looked at my COs in my current part, started before the last update (which saw the French translation appear).
Now that the game is translated into French (finally !!!), I have just seen that we can assign different storages to a CO: bricks, boards, etc.

So this is great news, thank you so much MrKrabs :steamhappy:
