If you want to increase the throughput of customs, you can use bigger trucks, containers on trucks, trains, or use ships/aircraft to travel to and from the border of the map.
Well, I dont mind some limits, just being annoyed by many trucks standing in the queue, while just few are taking their time. I think if they moved swiftly after loading/unloading it would be fine for me.
But on topic of customs optimization, always build a buffer storage close by. It helps through making sure customs trucks are used to full capacity, and there are are no "bursts" in traffic.
Just add the tag $STATION_NOT_BLOCK to game file:
../media_soviet/building_types/zoll_milhost.ini
What kind of anger you are talking about? I dont understand this.
Buffer - yes, I do buffer storages, usually I use free storage buildings very early and try to move to bigger storages asap and just dedicated trucks do deliveries to storages. For example I use 25 ton truck to deliver gravel to gravel storage and standard trucks from building offices distrubute this gravel to building sites.
Thanks. I will check it.
Personally i like the idea of customs limits, just the execution looks bad. The limtis are a good incentive to spread out, use different methods of transport and keep the pressure up on the player.
Tbh since game has export thresholds clamping on profits, it's probably not too bad to use the mod, but having it locked behind research or something would be good.
Limits are okay. And yes, execution is not perfect. One thing that bothers me the most is that there are empty places, but due to unknown reason trucks/buses cant use them before other truck/bus doesnt leave the area - even if they dont colide in any way. And I think we could just finance uprading of customs - starting from basic and moving up. Also, customs could be more compatible with one-way lanes. Or - which would be much more difficult for devs to implement - create priority lanes and allow selection which goods/stuff is priority, and which is not. I guess if I could set one or two goods as priority it would already help a lot with traffic. Anyway, these are just details.
Since our republic is bit of a daughter republic, I guess we already have special rights. So while I understand that it should not be efficient the main reason why we would like not to use customs and produce everything in own republic is money. Because importing should be more expensive (it actually is, so we already have reason to do own stuff).
Yes, this is a problem.
