If you want more road vehicles to be able to use the border customs house, you can use the Improved Customs mod, which makes it so more than one vehicle can drive in the customs house at one time: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2091824985

Seems you do not need it anymore unless the mod improves speed at the border.

ofc u must have a warehouse where to start ;)
Mod allows for 2(or more) cars to enter/exit the customs at the same time. Vanilla only 1 is, so when all bays are full 1 car will leave the customs, and all other cars wait till that 1 car has left the building, then 1 other will enter or exit. Mod allows for more cars to enter/exit at the same time, speeding thing up a lot.
As Mudkest mentioned above, this is not what the mod does. The vanilla borderpost uses all bays, but only one vehicle can move at once inside the building (so one vehicle can enter, while everything else waits until it has gone fully into it's own bay, then one vehicle can start to exit, and so on) The mod makes it work like the larger factories where the vehicles enter from the entry side and exit by going around so that one vehicle entering or exiting doesn't block any other vehicle from moving around at the same time.
The mod does cause inconsistent graphics when new vehicles are bought at the border and they start to exit the customs, but otherwise it works and speeds up the vehicle lines as all bays are utilized more fully and the limiting factor isn't the speed of vehicles entering or exiting the building one at a time.
Trains will immediately solve traffic congestion at the customs, and most rail cargo platforms can be connected to many depots and road distribution points so you can solve traffic congestion on 1 spot too, by distributing it all around the the rail cargo platform.
I set the signs on the three roads up so the center road is for outcoming traffic meanwhile right and left are for incoming traffic, when I had a lot of buses go to the border i restricted the left road only for buses, so right incoming traffic, center for outcoming traffic and left for incoming bus traffic.
With asphalt roads you have the possibility to set roads to one-way so you can store more traffic on one road because your traffic uses both lines of the road (doubled capacity).
