Army
Hello. Have you thought about bringing modern military developments into the game? Army, navy, missiles and military technology production? Tank production and stuff like that? These would fit very well in the game's timeline! You don't have to go to war, but you could connect with the mood of the people! If the army is weak, trust in the government falls. If there is a lot of war material, it could be sold. I think it would fit the age, and the game actually has everything you need! Good day to you! :)

You could have try typing "army" in search first. It was discussed at least 10 times this year.
Last time on 6th Dec. It will not happen.

This is not true.

At the road map it is stated as "maybe" in form of a DLC.

But it´s true, this topic is often requested and often discussed.

I'm always here saying that we should have military and that it shouldn't be used for real combat, but as a factor to please one of the two Cold War blocks. If you have a big military, prices drop on the East; if you have a small one, prices drop on the West. Also, this should lead to economic blockades of, at least, some items. This would make the game way more complex and dynamic.

there are plenty other ways to make it better than bringing ,,army,, to city builder

As a DLC...
I would buy it. The map is bis enough to have some battles.
Would be great to have a few outposts with offroad going vehicles and choppers to patrol along the border. And if any situation may get heated a bit: I´m in.

At one of my older saves I built a barrack.
From there a few vehicles started patrolling the area.

The millitary stuff I even would like more than the earthquakes.

Military production would be really nice as you could sell tanks, planes and ships as a big bonus. However, the purchase would also be extremely expensive. In fact, the whole thing took place during the Cold War. So it would be nice to do some kind of DLC where you could set up a military production. (but it should remain an economic game)

Not every game needs combat/military, there is so much to fix and improve. With the game in its current state i would rather the devs spend the next 2 years doing quality of life improvements and balancing/tweaking existing features rather than add anything else.

Having an intact army IS improvement of quality of life. 🙂

As a Cold War sim, I do think it could be implemented, but I would like even more to have a more dynamic diplomacy. Embargoes would come first. For those who doesn't like it, just turn it off. We do have secret police, military (without combat, just as something that affects diplomacy) would be just a step further to put pressure into your economy resources and manpower.

Agree that it doesn't need combat.

Exactly. And it would make it more realistic when related to the Cold War dynamic.

I even like with a little bit of combat. Maybe passiv like at Tropico. Every then and when a few rebels poped up somewhere at the edge of the map allowing the player to react.
Once the millitary job is done Hospitals can take care of the casualties and some vehicles could move out there to collect the destroyed vehicles for repair or scrap yard.

No, not in that generalization.

I don't want soldiers in the game, not even as DLC. Maybe much later, when the developer capacities are not needed for more urgent things.
The last person who suggested implementing military was called Heil dem Führer or something like that. It's not funny, and there should be no room for such ideas here, not even nearby.
Of course, it's difficult to keep politics out of a game in the Soviet environment, but I do see limits that need to be kept.

It doesn't even say "maybe" there. Just

I would not bet on that..
Deco Boladasso Dec 26, 2023 @ 6:15am
We already have military vehicles in the game. I produce them for export and pile some of them up into military bases. That's already there. What I would like is to see somewhat of a diplomacy around the blocks; and so the military would impact it. Just that. It would change prices and create embargoes so trading with each block would have some other dynamic. For those who doesn't like it, just turn it off.

You are a weapon dealer, an evil person!

Kidding aside, I get your point.
I like diplomacy and military touches on this point, if it's not inseparably related.

But this game has no diplomacy at all. It's also not the game for weapons IMHO.

As in other posts,

this is a thread about millitary. OP wants to share suggestions and ideas.
Any post which is going to be like "We don´t want army" or anything like that will be deleted without further comment.
