Note for Laptop NVidia users
Holy crap all this time i didn't realise the game had been running on my integrated graphics.

And worse, this is not the first game that hasn't picked up on the NVidia card so i should have learned.

Use the NVidia control panel to add in the game executable that you're using - 64 or 32 bit.

Performance now EXCELLENT.

Fkin idiot.

its not about being an idiot on this matter. Laptops are tricky they generally have stupid algorithms inside to save power. Therefore they switch things without giving you notification and reduces the performance.

And about performance. Try to play with full screen option on. Uncheck "Windowed" option at SETUPAPPLICATION SOVIET.exe setup window.
In my case it gave me almost twice amount of fps.
I'm playing on laptop with nVidia too. Windows 8.1 64bit.
Game started by "soviet.exe". More stable fps'es then by "soviet64.exe"

I think this has happened on almost every EA game i've bought. I forgot as not bought one in a while. It's the coding of the game which tells the laptop to use the actual graphics card rather than the default (onboard). It's just one of those things that the devs havn't got round to yet or didn't know about in the first place. Usually once leaving EA it's been cleared up.

MG no seriously i'm an idiot as i've been struggling with performance but this always happens on EA games. Win 7, win 10, doesn't matter, the devs need to switch the card on for the game.

Forged i'll try that although my performance is now great thanks. Not sure if i'll see an improvement as it's already as snappy as hell :).

well my laptop has a indicator that shows if its running on on board or graphic. so its ez for me to determine :D most laptops does not have that.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but it won't let me add the game I can only add a path of where .exe is located. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SovietRepublic

the Nvidia software simply scans location and comes up with no games there...

You have to add the exe file.

Ok so after researching, its actually under nvidia control panel and not experience. and you need to go to manage 3d settings, and then clien on "add". for those that need to do this.... so much better I can play this game on max setting now!

where do i find the nvidia control panel? excuse the thick question

its hidden icon by the clock on the lower right side when using windows 10. nvidia icon can right click on it and click on it.

Or

search in windows 10 for windows control panel it will pop up.

Yes and just to reiterate for games that the control panel doesn't automatically find you'll have to manually add it yourself.

Open Control Panel
Click on Manage 3d Settings
Then Under "Select a program to customise" click on "add".
Browse to the main executable for the game.

Once it's added you can customise settings in the control panel or leave them as is, or adjust ingame.

And if you don't have the control panel on Windows 10 (as i didn't) you'll need to download it from the Microsoft Store. Good luck with that, it took a support call to MS for me to get this to work. Unfortunately the NVidea driver doesn't seem to automatically install the control panel any more.

Sigh.....
