Just to expand my general knowledge, is there any game with this option (music player)?
If anybody wants different music he should play own music on pc:)
Soviet has great soundtrack, btw is much bigger with more songs than it was a few months ago:D so you love it or hate it:)
There is literally a playlist you can customize, disable soundtrack you don't like etc.
But I don't think that a simple music player is worth the work. Just disable the ingame music and use your own music player in the background.
Games that are a little more on simulation side, like My summer car or Derail Valley to name a few have physical in game media and players that you interact with after throwing your own music and labels. Can even hook up internet radio stations as well.
I did find some good "soviet" themed playlists on youtube that i listened to for a while, and go to sound settings and turn music off..
Our Dream - Sovietwave Mix: https://youtu.be/DMoCM_FgLP8
But this wasjust a necessity as running a music player in the background was a bad idea. Multitasking wasn't a real option in these days.
I already said, that play your music on the music player of your choice in the backgroud and that's it. But I see a funny gameplay feature here when implementing the player in a nice soviet era style. Or even have additional functions when building the radio tower ...
Oh. Railroad Tycoon II didn't have it.
If you've got Spotify, I can recommend this list I've been using recently : https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0Jsob1FHq38dsf64XDuZM9?si=0d7e9c2ae7e24fba
