Trains don't do that, so I don't see why metro should.
Really not worth it on realistic mode
The problem most people have is not knowing the myriad rules metros use.
Currently it is not worth the hassle for most people, that´s what I meant. It seriously made me switch off realistic mode and use real money to rebuild (correctly turned) metro station and connect adjacent tunnels for money, partly because there was absolutely no way of getting metro trains out from the tunnels where they got stuck due to turned station...
This is a bug/bad thing and devs NEED to fix it before trash update goes live, because by that point even demolishing the station would not be possible, same with selling train from the tunnel so you can rebuilt it etc.
Once you design your metro layout, you can test to see if it will work by making a save, turning off realistic mode, auto-building it, and sending a train through it. Just like how you can test every other feature and layout in the game.
You can also avoid having to sell a train when you go to test the metro by simply making a save before you send it in and reloading if something is messed up.
The issue here is the players being ignorant, for which a no-flip setting for the metro buildings would help by reducing the learning curve.
I do not want a feature of turning stations around of moving buildings like in forge of empires, but as a first time metro builder, this really haven´t appered to me at first and I think of myself as being pretty observant at times, but as placing this thing on surface is usually without the underground view and then it is "just connecting tunnels", I haven´t noticed and game doesn´t allow to switch platforms, which is imho an oversight.
Flipped stations are ok with changed directions - as long as e can make them flip directions without actual need of rebuilding the whole damn things.
It is similar to request of ability to add/remove bus stops to/from already existing roads. There should be no need for demolishing something the bus stop doesn´t need anyway
