Metro content feedback
The current metro system is neat, convenient and well implemented, however I think there are some changes that could benefit the system:
- flipping metro stations / end stations should not flip their inputs and they should stick to right hand drive/left hand drive, based on what is set in the game options

- Combining metro trains with regular trains at a depot should be possible, so you can move them to another depot. You can pull metro trains with a diesel locomotive from a customs house over unelectrified rail track to a depot, but as soon as you reach it, you don't have a way of combining them again for that purpose. You can't combine them inside a depot and you can't task a train to "load" vehicles from a depot like from a customs house

- The tutorial for the metro system should probably show how you connect a rail system to a metro system for construction purposes (last part of the tutorial). It makes it look like as if a construction train can go through a train depot, when in fact you have to make a bypass connection and hook up metro lines to regular rail lines

Yes, except this

Trains don't do that, so I don't see why metro should.

The metro buildings are fixed setup and you cannot decide which lane should go which direction. Trains are free form and you can choose the lanes as you want to. If the metro stations were free form and both lanes could go either direction, it would be a non issue, but the lanes are fixed and flip when you flip the building. The large metro station with above ground entrance is not quite symmetrical with its road and was leading to some confusion after not paying attention, that the metro connections were actually directional.

I second you with this - or even better: Make metro tracks direction changeable AFTER the building is built. Because nothing is more annoying then designing a great city, polishing it, letting it grow around metro tracks while they are built and after 10 game years your trains say "f-u" and you cannot even get them out of the system properly, because ONE station is turned around and your trains are deadlocked in there.

Really not worth it on realistic mode

Underground metros are worth it on realistic mode if you know what you are doing.

The problem most people have is not knowing the myriad rules metros use.

You haven´t understand me - I can use the metro, but one mistake while turning render your building of line unusable. That is not ok and that needs to change.

Currently it is not worth the hassle for most people, that´s what I meant. It seriously made me switch off realistic mode and use real money to rebuild (correctly turned) metro station and connect adjacent tunnels for money, partly because there was absolutely no way of getting metro trains out from the tunnels where they got stuck due to turned station...

This is a bug/bad thing and devs NEED to fix it before trash update goes live, because by that point even demolishing the station would not be possible, same with selling train from the tunnel so you can rebuilt it etc.

If you know not to flip metro buildings or if you were observant enough to notice you were connecting two exits pointing into each other, then pretty much all of these issues are avoided.

Once you design your metro layout, you can test to see if it will work by making a save, turning off realistic mode, auto-building it, and sending a train through it. Just like how you can test every other feature and layout in the game.

You can also avoid having to sell a train when you go to test the metro by simply making a save before you send it in and reloading if something is messed up.

The issue here is the players being ignorant, for which a no-flip setting for the metro buildings would help by reducing the learning curve.

I would not like a fix for this behavior. I do use flipped subway stations precisely because of the changing direction of the platforms.

I do not want a feature of turning stations around of moving buildings like in forge of empires, but as a first time metro builder, this really haven´t appered to me at first and I think of myself as being pretty observant at times, but as placing this thing on surface is usually without the underground view and then it is "just connecting tunnels", I haven´t noticed and game doesn´t allow to switch platforms, which is imho an oversight.

Flipped stations are ok with changed directions - as long as e can make them flip directions without actual need of rebuilding the whole damn things.

It is similar to request of ability to add/remove bus stops to/from already existing roads. There should be no need for demolishing something the bus stop doesn´t need anyway
