Custom House
dear developers, is it possible to fix the custom house? the large custom house has 3 entrances. there is a constant traffic jam with vehicles because the vehicles only use one entrance. of course I connected three roads to the custom house. I know there is a mod, but this mod doesn't allow me to play on my pre-existing cities as I understand.

There are a few things you can do to help. Firstly set up a hub to hold raw materials and other items you will have to deliver to your cities. Secondly, work towards using trains to handle large export or import volumes. Appreciate these are more workarounds but I find the first one in particular really helps.

Traffic jam at customs is realistic. You can build more customs to cheat.

Yep and it works as long as there is a variety of different trucks, because of different loading speeds all lanes will be used at times

You can mod the game files (building.ini) for the custom houses and it will affect your preexisting republics. But it is considered cheating (if you care about such things), as the current behaviour is actually, horrifically, intended.

traffic at customs is in large part to the only one vehicle moving at a time thing. that means that unless you have big or lengthy deliveries, you will not see more than 3 slots be used even at the largest houses. there is a mod to fix that, but that is no excuse for the mods, unless they want to leave it that way?

Trucks should travel 500km to next city for 5 days. Lex made mod for that. Vanilla customs should accept 3 trucks but hold them longer for inspection. Idea is to build storages next to border or use other customs. 3 customs give 3000 tourists and 1800 workers per month..

Dev pretends its intended. But then the whole reason for a having diffrent tiers of custom buildings is nulified which to me suggest they are just too lazy to fix it

there is a customs mod in the work shop that fixes it and maps that use the said mod.
ive had trucks entering and leaving so all lanes are full, as soon as loading is done they leave almost immediately

There is more to the customs houses than truck traffic:
• Small customs can only handle trucks.
• Medium one has rail, but railway vehicle selection is limited due to length.
• Large one has rail and more selection for railway vehicles.

Customs is meant to be a bottleneck for historical reasons and as a progression challenge.
