Buying helicopters in realistic mode

Yes. Just build a helipad and order the helicopter from its menu. Ships and airplanes are similar, though the airplane will also require a long enough runway to be connected to the airplane parking spot with a working ATC tower nearby.

Does it need to be helipad by itself? Coz I have a helipad, but it's connected to fire station.

You can order helicopters in realistic mode from any "depot" (a helipad, but not the cargo one) or from any "workplace" (HCO, hospital w/ attached helipad, or fire station w/ attached helipad).

It can take a while for the helicopter to get there, but you can check if you actually ordered one or not by opening the menu of whatever building you ordered it at and scrolling to the bottom where "all related vehicles" is at. If you see a helicopter listed there, it is on its way, and you can double click on it to open the helicopter's menu; from there you can click on the zoom button to show you where it is.

Right... Found the issue. My small fire station didn't have any space. I assumed that my helipad will extend vehicle capacity...
Even weirder is that stats show it has 3 spaces for vehicles. I have 2...

Oh yeah, helicopters count against the vehicle limit, even if there should be extra room.

regarding buying heli or plane.
Both require a parking space/helipad that is not connected to anything.
So it will not work if you put the parking space/helipad near a firestation or terminal ect.
Since then it will be glued to the building.
And ofcourse to buy example a fire helicopter to the firestation you need to have room for it, so maybe sell one firetruck and you can buy the heli.
I highly recommend to place the firestation next to a river - lake - ocean so the heli only have to travel a short distance to pickup water so it dosent waste to much time.

Not sure what do you mean - it is possible to buy helicopter from helipad connected to firestation. And later you can send it (rebase) elsewhere, for example to heli CO.

And don't forget to have a repair facility with a helicopter landing pad connected to it and aluminium delivered to the repair facility also also or the helicopter won't fly for long.

To get some aluminium back and get rid of helicopters that are in too bad shape to continue service you had best connect a helicopter landing pad to the scrapping yard as well.
