How to collect Waste

I just started Playing again after the update yesterday. So my dumb question is how do you collect waste from houses and apartments in order to take it to a dump?

Collection stands will also help centralise the garbage for pickup, and even allow for separation of the garbage when applicable.

Some buildings I would recommend that you NEED to have them if they are going to see a lot of visitors such as schools. I also recommend that buildings that make hazardous waste gets bin collector a so you can pre separate it.

I think it is best to have every building covered with collection stands, the big ones with small containers can be set to waste separation. It makes the live of your technical services å lot easier

More on that - separating in stands is the ONLY way to separate biowaste, and you want to do that a it can be trucked and dumped at dumps near farms and will turn itself overtime into solid fertilizer, which increases fertility (and yield) of your farm.

i usaly place those big bin collectors, my technical service dosnt need to drive around burning fuel all the time, thers just so much space in those for the few buildings it can cover in its limited range.

My waste-collection setup is this
1) garbage stands collected via TS
2) waste collection yard on city border with 1x30 containers for mixed waste and 1x30 containers for all other wastes (6x bio, 6x construction, 6x metal, 6x hazardous, 3x plastic and 3x aluminum). Here it is delivered by TS trucks, as they do not drive full most of the time
3) DO that picks up and delivers FULL containers to its source (customs, recycling facility, farms, separation plant, incinerator/waste to power, ...).

Waste collection yard is great for you to see how much of waste you get and also serves as a buffer when something fails. Won´t save for eternity, as when that thing fills entirely, it backlogs the city with trash as well and people start dying fast due to pollution, but at least there is a quick fix, as you rearrange target points for the DO from de-funcing facility for a moment and TS are going immediately to save the city from even more harm.

I rly like concept, but execution is rather poor. Garbage truck will drive to one spot, picks garbage and goes to dump. why ist it picking up other spots until full ?? makes no sense, then I have 5 trucks with 0.2t of bio running towards dump while rest is overflowing :D

I think trying to cover multiple buildings with a single collection point helps this a bit.

Except for the fact that trucks will pickup from multiple collection points, still often go to the dump without being full but that is usually down to there not being enough garbage in general.
