You can even set up your grid to automatically switch power supplies if one is down for maintenance or for some other reason.
The repair of the building itself is performed without stopping work, but reduces productivity.
Equipment replacement stops production completely.
Due to the risk of fires, it is always good to have redundancy of critical infrastructure.
I will keep that in mind.
There are A LOT of power plants with one turbine only. And Steam Turbine maintenance can take easily two months.
W&R Coal Power Plant has 23MW so it could be one steam turbine.
Anyway, there is no wear of machinery for heating or power production. Just building wear, answering this:
I just don't like the fact that entire production stops when You decide to change machines in factories. It should stop only for the replacement phase, after all materials are delivered.
Thanks for the clearification.
I accidently clicked it once and so can approve your statement.
The building gets overhauled while the chimneys are smoking.

Thank you. I agree that the plants should stop only when workers start maintenance work
1 power plant is too vulnerable, and not only due to maintenance.
