Direct Factory Connections
Hi - I am sure others are aware but thought I would share - I had a fabric factory with a direct factory connection to a clothes factory and also both buildings connected to a warehouse storing fabric and clothes. Warehouse was full of Fabrics but production %age in Clothes Factory hovered around 15%. After I removed the factory connection between Fabric and Clothes factory this jumped up to around 85%.

I'm not quite sure I understand... why would the production percentage jump all of a sudden after the removal of a connection? Thank you.

The container packing facility has to pause packing to pull goods from storage; I wonder if more buildings now have to suspend production to pull goods across factory connections.

So it seems that when the Clothes factory pulls fabrics from the warehouse only via a factory connection I see a much higher production %age than when it pulls directly from the Fabrics factory. Could it be linked to the fact that the export capacity of the Fabrics factory is low when compared to the warehouse?

A low export storage can be good because it will try to push goods to other storages rather than filling up first. The behavior you saw may be the import and export types of storages for fabric interacting weirdly.

I have seen this as well. Factory connections between clothing factory and a warehouse work notoriously bad - full internal store, but not much filling of the warehouse -

But it is not new, it has been this way since i started playing, and that is ? a year ?

Maybe it is one of the cases forklifts should be used.

Thanks but this is not the issue I see. The flow between fabric factory and warehouse is fine and the clothes factory pulling fabric from warehouse is fine. The issue is if I also have a factory connection between fabric factory and clothes factory in place. That is when I see production %age drop off in the clothes factory.

I see what you mean.

But i am still going to use my own advice : use forklifts instead of factory connections only in such cases.

Bug or not, maybe that solves or is at least a work around for cargo streams or production dropping in buildings that display that behavior.
