exporting bitumen
Hello everyone, I have the oil refinery exporting both fuel and Bitumen. the fuel exporting is going good but for some reason I can't export Bitumen at all, not with pipes to a storage or even with trucks. is it me doing something wrong or what should I do? thanks.

You have several options, one is to specify Bitumen for being picked up by whatever you are using for export, another is to have an oil tank that only accepts bitumen and is not directly connected to the refinery (makes the bitumen the only valid liquid to be pulled out) or to use a liquid loading station connected to a bitumen tank which is pretty much the same as the previous option but the vehicles load faster.

Hello, thanks for your reply. "not directly connected to the refinery" I think this is was I'm doing wrong, I have a storage tank right behind the refinery connected to the output directly to it. should it be to pump then to the tank or what exactly?

A pump connected to the tank from the refinery will work.

if something is connected, but does not work, try a pump and see. if it still does not work, someone should go to gulag.....nah, just kidding, not like we wait for a reason to send people to siberia vacation

I load bitumen directly from a standard liquid ( oil ) tank that is in the base game. Benefit of that there is some extra buffer as fuel production will stop when bitumen cannot be exported.

It's limitation is a single loading place.

I guess a road loading connection would work when directly attached to either refinery or tank but it is not as busy as the fuel one. Alternatively you can export it by train.

for me it was a bit different as I wanted to export it directly using the border connection (using only pipes) but it didn't work, however I used a pump now between the refinery and the storage tank and it now works.

You must be produce a lot of bitumen then :-))

Don't you use bitumen yourself to asphalt roads ?

There comes a point where you are producing more bitumen than you need. You have to do something with it or the refinery stops refining both fuel and bitumen so you can end up running out of fuel even with sufficient oil and refining capacity.

Not a lot actually no I only have one refinery but I wanted to use the new border pimp connection as it's way better than dealing with trains and truck to haul it to export it.
Nope I don't produce asphalt yet I'm just getting started and wanted to make a steady cash flow :D
