Some people have a "thing" about buying from Steam if it can be avoided.
GOG, GMG etc seem to be popular alternatives.
But anyway.

To be more specific, GOG specifically gets a lot of preference, from me included (though you'll see I did buy on this platform), because GOG does not allow any form of DRM such as Denuvo or always online requirements for games which can be played offline in anything sold there. They also always provide compressed file installers you can download, often including older versions of games, if you don't want to use their store manager Galaxy that functions like Steam. It also means games I really care about I can put those installers on external drives and never lose access to the games I want to preserve, as they could still be used to install the game even if GOG no longer existed. They are very important to people who care about media preservation.
Still no release on GOG... Any update on this?
