Game cant alt+tab without freeze/lockup
Come on, its 2023 there is NO excuse for this.

well yeah it works works 4/5 times but sometimes its does itself in.
Windowed is just annoying. There is a bug here that the devs should have a look at when they are not busy mocking some clown who is pretending to be a lawyer.

i can also. Must be hardware specific issue. try to put your pc hardware info so devs might check.

Made a report about this myself.

Personally I don't see the issue. Just play in windowed mode, it's still fullscreen. And it fixes the issues. It's a known problem due to their engine. Take a chill pill, play in windowed :)

Mine has been doing the same thing since I first started playing the game a few years ago. Even in windowed mode, if I hit the windows key it will lock up about 9 out of 10 times. During this time I have had two different computers with different hardware and they both did it. The only thing they have in common is that they are both AMD based systems. Really not sure what is going on with is. Happens with the windows key, ALT+TAB, and even CTL+ALT+DEL. Anytime the focus isn't directly on the game window or in full screen it will almost guarantee a "not responding" status. Tried also waiting to see if it will start working again and after 30 min it is still locked up. I would really like to find a solution to this issue. Love this game but this issue makes it hard for me to play while multi tasking.

Current System specs:
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core
32 GB of ram
RX 5700 XT GPU
Running windows 10

same problem here(on occasion). work around untill(if ever) it gets fixed, hit alt-enter instead.

But I don't know what alt+tab is for.
Can anyone explain this in a nutshell for me?

windows hotkey to swap between programs

Borderless window is what you want. Trust me! It behaves the same way full screen does but it is more alt-tab friendly.

I'd agree with you, as I am a heavy alt-tab user myself.

I never had any issue with it with WSSR. I use windowed mode.

In every game where it is available, I used windowed mode so I can use alt-tab. Some games still, in 2023, have problems with that. But not this one.
