What mechanism is needed for wiring installation?

For high voltage wires.
Does it even need a mechanism? No workers are showing up.

Would it not make sense if the game shows required mechanism as needed resource for construction?

You can only build them from their end termination points.

Most of the building of the wire is completed but now it is stuck on the construction phase "wiring installation".

It is an underground high voltage wire going from a power import/export point to a nearby high power switch that i have build,

If you click the "Assign construction" button in the planned construction, it will show you what you need for construction.

You can use a crane to speed up power line construction, but it isn't needed. Workers are required though, and they have to be delivered by a CO vehicle (no walk on's).

Ensure all materials are present and the CO has a source for workers with workers actually waiting there.

It says it needs a tower crane and road crane (optional), and a bus. I have a bus shuttling in foreign workers, they have constructed the high voltage switch, so i think that's covered. To be sure i bought another bus and put it in a construction office (all construction offices are assigned to work on the high voltage wire), but it does nothing.
Still no workers are going to the construction site of the high voltage wire.

I have a road crane in one of the construction offices, it already has done some work on the wires. I purchased a tower crane at the customs building (seems unlikely a tower crane is needed for installation of an underground cable, but i'll give it a shot) - but i have no place to put the tower crane. Do i need a larger construction office for the tower crane?

Thanks, it looks like it's sorted now: i needed to assign the customs house as source for workers (had the bus stop assigned).

You need truck with weight and bed lenght capacity to carry tower crane. You can check it by pressing blue question mark icon in vehicle card. Crane will show up everything that can carry it while truck everything it can carry. Set up line to pick up vehicles in customs and drop in contruction office. All CO slots can handle all kinds of machinery.

Makes sense, i'll keep that in mind when i need the tower crane.
