I just wanted to try the solution for this topic, I read the solution at some point, unfortunately I can't find the link.
so it goes like this:
1) build a railway office.
2) Send from your vehicle depot an open truck that can load big weight (approx. 13 t) to the customs building.
3) buy a track builder under the Dismantled section
4) send the truck to the railway office, with the order to unload there.
already done.
But like I said, I'm starting to try it now.

ok, I think I understand the way is supposed to be done. I will try it.

When you adjust the truck line to pick up the "disassembled track layer" don't forget that you must not use "wait until loaded".

ok, thank you

A couple of hints:
- Build your rail construction office close to the border so you can quickly link it with the disassembled track layer and then quickly buy better track layers
- The big track layer EDK300 can only be purchased from the big customs office (the one with 3 rail tracks)

speaking of EDK300. I don't know what is called the blue one which I use because it has the biggest speed. I don't understand. It seems that later vehicles have lower speeds than the later ones so, someone please explain to me which one is better, total capacity or speed?

There isn´´t a correct answer imo.
If you have a big layout of tracks nearby than a slow one may be ok.
I built a track through my whole map to the other side.
In that case some good speed is better because the way is getting longer and longer.
I used the modded EDK 300.
First of all: It has a Locomotive.
The vanilla one doesn´t. I don´t like that.
Abd it runs 8ß km/h. That´s pretty ok for my taste.

Another thing should be considered:
How many goods can be taken with the track layer.
If it´s to much it can get tricky with the RCO.
Sometimes the track layer is coming back with a lot of left over.
There is a likelygood that the RCO is getting overfilled with one good leading to the situation that another good won´t be delivered by the trucks anymore.
This goes especially for some small modded RCO´s.

I found a good balance on my current game.

I don't mean the speed at it runs on tracks. I mean the working speed

If you are going to build a lot of track, build new RCO's as you move, move the track builders to the new office so they don't have as far to go to get to the new track layings. Of course you have to adjust your distribution office to deliver materials to the new RCO or build another distribution office for it, it can be the small one or even the smaller modded distribution office with only 2 vehicles. You will likely need to two of those to supply the RCO but they take very little time and materials to construct.
