Rail Distribution Length Limit?

I have a rail line set up to move bauxite to ships. It consists of a single track from a aggregate loading station to an aggregate unloading station. The unloading station is connected directly to the aggregate loading dock as there wasn't space for a storage. The loading station is connected to a large aggregate storage, which is currently full. I have seven hopper cars in my rail distribution office and one locomotive. No matter what I do, it will not dispatch more than a five car train, which is not enough to keep up with production. I even tried setting a minimum train length of seven cars, which resulted in the distribution office not dispatching any trains at all. The ship waiting at the aggregate loading port has a capacity of about 1k bauxite, while a five car train has only 250. Is it possible to get longer trains, or is five cars the limit?

It is limited by length of RDO itself. You can get some modded longer RDO to run longer trains.

Moving a single item from the same origin to the same destination as fast as possible, forever, is the ideal use case for a line. Eliminate the RDO and then you can build your ore train as long as you want (within the limits of the rail depots).

try packaging the bauxite into containers using the container mod, you can move alot more bauxite in containers than as bulk in ships and trains, also dont use a distribution office as it will only fill so much not more than needed. also make sure your trains fill and unload until full and empty

You should be able to set max lenght at 155m and minimum 11 cars as i do here. But maybe as ppl said above normal line may be more appropriate.

i was dealing with same problem as you.
problem is/was in ''unsuported connection''
Distribution company dontknow how much space is in destination ...so will always send only maximum of 5 ''cars'.
Only solution /for now/ is to add storage building betweaen /after loading/unloading station.
