Terrible price increase on market for trucks and mechanisms
Has anyone from the forum ever ended up in the 2000s due to the slow development of the republic? Unfortunately, in my current game, I've noticed that the vehicle prices are getting higher and higher. A combine harvester currently costs me almost 900,000 rubles, one of the mod trucks from Schenker Company 1.2 million! A prison bus with 18 seats is something around 6000k.

Unfortunately, that slows me down a lot because swapping older vehicles on routes that now require different engines is almost impossible.

Does anyone know the underlying mechanism and is there a way to get over it?

My republic is based on agriculture and grain processing. I'm not a fan of mining and heavy industry and only use it to support my construction industry and keep income in the black. (Because in 2030 a ton of electronics will also cost nearly 900 thousand rubles)

Does anyone have a hint?

Thank you and solidarity greetings!

That is realistic inflation. Grow with the economy or die economically. :-)

When you still want to be a republic mainly focusing on agriculture instead of high tech, you could activate all vehicles by cheat mode. So you can buy the older vehicles for less costs. This is also done today by less developed countries, buying old trains, plains, ships and trucks from more developed countries.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Looks like a reasonable way of acting.

From german comrades I learned also that this curve of inflation is normal and based of the dev's position that self-sufficiency should be the main target for the players.

Luckily there are two smaller mods, too, that can help getting access to small amounts of high tec stuff, without installing large industrial areas.
One recycles the input of the evidence rooms from your police stations and I think it's okay to use this in my second republic as soon as the "realistic update" will be released.
All of my prisoners have declared themselves as being guilty by just being confronted with their egoistic and anti-social behavior so no further "objective evidences" have to be kept.
*coughs-a-bit"
The amount of stuff coming from there is not really big.

I also often play without big industries. Often on maps with no natural resources. If you are doing a lot of agriculture then you can always cash in with alcohol and cloth production. Not only that, but do not forget tourism.

Republics with single-product economies should become more viable after the 0.8.8.x update, especially if exported by ship. Railway and road customs are considered as neighboring cities, not the market of the entire NATO or USSR. They are not so difficult to overfill with products, which dramatically reduces the prices of exported goods.

Almost certainly, your problem is not that cars are getting more expensive (inflation, this is normal, I think the game should have already asked you a couple of times if you want to reduce prices by a few numbers). The problem, rather, is that your economy is having market problems and is earning far less revenue than it should.

Have you already read https://www.sovietrepublic.net/post/report-for-the-community-56 ?

I don't think there is such a concept in the game now. The cost of machines is calculated as a derivative of the cost of manufacturing this machine - mainly the cost of steel. Therefore, old cars become more expensive just like new ones.

Wow - thanks! This community report #56 has been really enlightening.

Well, it does not take much effort to have some heavy industry, for steel, and all the other stuff, and then build your own vehicles. So much more cheaper. No need to do something fancy, just buy the blueprints, build the stuff and be fine with it. Every country has that one village that doesn't follow the general ideology. 🤡

You can buy coal ore and iron ore at the border, refine it to make steel with. I could be wrong but I would think the starting ores and the like shouldn't cost much then you make the steel, chemicals and plastics and everything else to end up with the materials to build vehicles with. Sell the ones you don't need or just build the ones you need.

Thank you, Bailing_Out, for the hint.

I think, I will check when I start with the next map.

Your welcome. I'm gonna start a new map soon, right now I'm playing with stuff on the test branch to figure it all out. Workshopped a horrible looking customs house so I could get trams in and out of them. Now I got test on underground stuff.

I may be wrong but if you have no intention of making much money building vehicles I am pretty sure buying the raw materials is cheaper than mining.
