How to use Bus?

Built woodcutting post 500 meters from residential buildings, built bus platform next to houses, buy bus and set up route between bus platform and woodcutters. Plenty of workers in residential buildings but none will go to the bus platform. Only people looking for leisure activity or students.
Try clicking on 'Add where citizens should go to work' says woodcutting post is too far away. It is 500 meters away, if it was any closer they could walk there.
How do you transport workers to a factory using busses?

I can't get workers to use buses at all either

If people don't know what i am doing wrong, can someone at least confirm that they have got workers to go to a bus platform. Then I know I am doing something wrong and game is not broken.

I have had workers travel in buses, but not many. I have a wood setup about 3 or 4 km from the main town. there is some housing right next to the wood cutting place and the sawmill, but not enough workers to run both live in that housing. Busses run between two bus stops, one in the town and the other near the wood cutting. I've only ever seen a couple of workers travel, even though I have about 100 unemployted in town, rarely do I get more than 10 or so workers between the wood cutting buildings.

You can force any apartment building to send all of its workers to the bus stop. Does that work if you send a build to oinly use that bus stop?

Yep that's got things moving thanks. In game help claims you don't need to do that should just go to bus stops automatically, but that's early access I guess. Main thing is there is a workaround even if things are not working as they should at the moment.

I have a lot of people at the bus station but no one jumps one the bus?

Do you have a footpath linking the bus stop to the houses? I've always used footpaths along with road connections with bus stops and I haven't had any problems with people not using them.

Yes I do have, and a lot of people uses the foodpath to get to the bustop

Foot paths are very important. The people will not walk through a building to get to the other side either, you need a footpath going past if you want them to get to then next building over.

Comrade, as public transportation together with mass electrification of the motherland is quite new feauture of our great system, it is nothing bad to ask how to use a bus.
First when you have important task like getting fast to your job , be it coal plant , and you just realized you will be late becouse of yesterday drinking vodka with Sasha then you must go as fast as possible to nearest bus platform and when your ZIL Bus , freshly new from our Comitee depot arrives, then jump in and read some parts of today Dialectic Gazette , just remember to move out when you are at target bus platform. And remember, work hard for glory of working class !

It seems that you have to set a residential buildings 'places where the citizens work' thingy for the workplace and the bus stop you want them to use to get to the workplace.

Yeah I presumed that workers would go and work at any Factory or shop within range of their house automatically, but no it appears you have set the every workplace for every house manually by hand. I can see that getting very tedious very quickly.

ibrought buses. set a route. bus cant reach them?? but the roads are attached. not sure where im going wrong. ive restarted loads as i hit a new problem.
