Distribution office
Hi. I have a warehouse that receives crops and feeds a distillery. The same warehouse then stores the produced alcohol. I want my DO to pick up crops from customs office, deliver to warehouse and pick up any alcohol and sell at customs office but my trucks won't combine these two tasks. DO moves crops to warehouse but same truck does not take alcohol back to customs office?

As far as I understand this is a limitation imposed by current transport logic in the game. Vehicles will only do new delivery after they return to the DO.
For instance: Pick crops at customs > Unload at warehouse > Return to DO > Start new order.

If there is not enough vehicles to fullfill the first order, let's say 500 t of crops to the warehouse, they won't pick alcohol up unless all crops are delivered or there is enough free vehicles at DO.

It's also worth checking if the threshold for picking resources up from warehouse (in the DO) is low enough.

They don't need to return to the DO, they get their orders on the fly (I often see a truck leaving a CS and turning around on the next possibility/crossing to go back), they just don't get them when the loading/unloading process is finished and need to leave the warehouse or CS first

Thanks. It would also be good if you could combine orders. In another part of the city I have food production set up. I have a line from here with 5 trucks that delivers food to the prison and unloads what it can. Then it goes to the supermarket and does the same again. Finally it goes to the customs House and sells whatever is left. If I were to use the DO for this it would see this as 3 separate journeys.

Why don't you get a truck from the road office and set up a line to do the work?
That's the basic way to do it in this game.

Thanks. That was how I was doing it but was trying to incorporate DO into the process.

Issue with this is that it doesn’t have good logic. They will clog up roads even when there’s nothing to pick up/no room to drop off, and if you set them to wait then they’ll block the building’s slots. Distribution offices are a lot more manageable, especially over time.

Thanks but unfortunately you cant combine multiple tasks for one truck if you use DO

Could you make this work by storing the crops in a silo as an input to the distillery and leave the warehouse for the output of alcohol?

It's fairly unusual that the input and output uses the same type of truck. If they didn't then you wouldn't consider this. Personally I think I would go for two small DO's: one bringing the crops (from farms?) and another exporting the alcohol.

Thanks - Even if I did not mix input and output re the trucks I would have the same issue. As another example, I have a manual line that takes food to the prison then to the supermarket and whatever the truck has left goes to the customs office. So one line and one truck performs 3 actions. If I were to set this up via the DO it would see these as 3 separate jobs which would be less efficient.
