Forklifts not working
Small cargo harbor connected to open storage and warehouse, still seriously buggy. Seems to be related to the tiny amount of storage in the cargo harbor itself. Takes annoying amounts of babysitting and still doesn't work half the time. Any fixes coming?

The harbor itself shouldn't be storing anything unless its modded. Forklifts are small capacity, fast loading so they should work alright unloading ships, ive used them like this before and frankly it will take some time for them to fully unload a ship.

Nope, not that. Sometimes they work, sometimes they pick up the thing to load into the ship but when they get to the harbor, it doesn't actually unload, so the forklift will just run the same route over and over with a full load the whole time. Sometimes, same deal with picking up from the harbor, runs empty over and over.

And there's no storage listed, but when the ship arrives, a little bit of stuff will be unloaded. Just using the stock small cargo harbor. Some of the ships are modded, some stock.

Do you have the same orders to load and unload the same goods?

Does the cargo harbor have power?

Re: goods orders, I've tried both ways, just adding all the buildings and letting them pick, as well as specifying where to pick up and drop off goods.

Everything's powered.

It works sometimes with some goods, sometimes doesn't work with the same goods, no rhyme or reason that I've discovered.

Has anyone else noticed the same behavior with a bit of storage in the harbor? I'll have a ship docked, and if I click a new item to load that's been there previously, it'll suddenly add 2.5 tons or so even w/o a forklift nearby, then forklifts start bringing more.

Pro Tip: avoid using forklifts, they suck!

I mean thats an option too. But they are useful for complex facilities and that added realism.

I wouldn't call it a pro tip, just a min maxer preference.

You have one forklift warehouse handling all this or two? It does sound a bit buggy, could you post some screenshots of you orders, setup and general layout?

You can build quite complex stuff without forklifts. There are simply never enough, so it's really best to avoid them, or use them only for things that are needed in small quantities only. And even then, other solutions may be better.

For example, I've set 2 trucks for wood for my chemical facilities, 2 per facility. They are set to "wait until unloaded", since wood is used the least and the delivery spots are not used otherwise.

Looks like they fixed it in the most recent update. They made it so that the forklifts actually wait to unload the ships now, so no longer have forklifts bringing goods to a ship that doesn't have room (or the inverse, which apparently was also an issue).

Would be lovely if it would start to load when there's capacity, but at least this way it doesn't lock up my forklifts.

Also, yes, I'm aware of all the drawbacks to forklifts, but I'm still using them and like when they function correctly.
