if you sell lots of fuel its price gets reduced. if you buy lots of oil its price gets increased.
there is no static inflation .
also as long as ppl keep making babies there will be inflation.....
there is no exponential rise. price rise is pretty linear almost dead slow if you dont buy or sell anything
What I see in the game are those prices in current dollars (+ 1200 %) and not those in constant dollars (+ 55 %) so inflation is hiding the evolution in prices in constant dollars. That's unfortunate since it is the data that's really useful
As a result I couldn't even tell if my money was millions or billions; the similar case with prices of products.
The inflation itself is a good and reasonable feature in the game but I completely agree that after some time it becomes a problem. Would be nice to be able to regulate it somehow in the game or for example after a long time of inflation there could be periods of deflation to "equalize" the price levels.
It looks though that there is a "trick" to reset prices to the levels from the beginning of the game. I don't take credit for that - I saw it here some time ago; don't remember who posted this.
Do the following:
Start a new game with the same map you're using (not sure if the map has to be the same; that's what I'm doing at least); make a save.
In the save folder of the last save find the file "stats.ini", copy it and paste it (overwrite) in the folder with your original map. This will reset the price levels to those from the start of the game.
That should work.
Thanks - that should help
why are you playing till 2100 ? after several year AI will take over the world and humans will be their pets.
I suppose the price of the stuff I do export does deflate relative to other goods (a good feature of the game) but I can't read it directly on the graphs and since this is a game I don't want to spend hours setting up some spreadshit to crunch numbers ^^.
My basic point is that inflation makes the evolution of "real" (adjusted for inflantion, in constant dollarsrubbles) prices harder to read so I am looking for a way to set inflation to 0 %. Getting stats and prices in constant dollars/rubbles would work too but I suppose is more costly to implement.
I like to build things myself ^^
