Which one should I choose to traffic our coal/iron down the hill to our steel mill?

Considering the high demand of the steel mill - use conveyors. Cable cars are cheaper but are more useful for lower volume transfer

In my last game I had to find out that the cable car transports less than half the output of my coal mine...so I'ld suggest the conveyor belt if you are planning to run your steel mill at a medium to high capacity...

Conveyors... usually I find mines work in waves, sometimes a lot of output, sometimes less (depends on your transport setup), but you want to move all the potential ore, and stash it somewhere if needed, so you don't waste workers :)

In my current part, I use cable cars to bring iron and coal down a mountain and supply a steel mill.
It works very well.

System: mine -> large aggregate storage -> cable cars -> large aggregate storage -> ore processing plant (iron and coal) -> large aggregate storage -> steel mill.
It works very well (I use the heavy skips).

You just have to be careful to wait for the large aggregates storages (iron and coal) to fill up, before starting the steel mill and you will not have a supply problem for the steel mill.


My workers go to the iron mine and the coal mine with cable cars.
The ore processing plants (in the plain) are connected to the train station which brings workers to the steel mill (initially by bus and once the aggregate storages is full, they come with the same train as the workers. of the steel mill).
