It's a bad system and it doesn't work correctly. You shouldn't have to make 50 small sections to connect two points that are right next to each other.
The small sections working are a bug/exploit of the system not a desired action.
I did connect the two points, yet I had to make about 10 small sections to connect them together. It's a poor system and poorly made.
Think about it? It has nothing to do with the height of the hill at all if I can just make little tiny sections of road and it works ya? Yet I can't just connect the two points together. It's simply poorly done.

There to your 30-40 degree hills.. At 4:45 what do you call that? Stop white knighting because the system is bad.

Sometimes it can be challenging, but with a little thought and planing using the tools available to us I am able to achieve the desired pathway.

It's certainly not as forgiving as Cities Skyline that's for sure. On Cities you can make some serious angles and grades without issue.. and also unrealistic overall.

Of course U can´t drag it up just like easypeasy.
In my opinion this game is for players who are willing to go the extra mile.
Don´t take me wrong. Suggestions are always welcome. And I don´t want to escalate.
The roads are on the trello. So let´s wait if there will be some improvements.
Notice how all your examples are in hot climates. No way you would build anything this steep in a cold climate. If they did, it would be closed half of the year.
"jumping into the deep end of the pool on 1st day..."
most of the vids i saw early on and yt. are on mostly smooth flat maps.
its so it works on less capable gfx machines from less $ countries.
the roads tools are designed for flat maps - much better when realise the limitations of development.
you will encounter "clipping" issues too.
-worth learning all the little fun parts - as deep of game play potential outweighs any comparative builder with smooth roads.
good luck o7
This.
You must have linked the wrong video then because there is nothing close to 30% grade at the 15:30 mark.

You cant base your expectations on a game exploit. I can guarantee you that grade is much more severe than it looks or you have some unforseen bug.
