Where to mine?

How can I tell where a good place to put a mine is?

You have to actually select a mine, like a coal mine, or iron mine and then circle around the map with it selected until all the red dots around go yellow or green, thus indicating presence of minerals. It's quite ♥♥♥♥♥♥, hopefully there'll be some option to display minerals on map without having to look for it yourself. Usually there are minerals in the mountains, good luck.

I thought the dots were to indicate how level it is. I noticed the mine itself changes color. It turned green when I went over flat land so I thought I would ask on the forums.

there is 2 kind of dots in mine 1 for ground level, and 1 in bigger circle for resources

I found a place but I can't get any workers to go there. They should be able to walk to it. Any suggestions? The house is next to the power plant. Workers walk to the power and coal processing plants, but not the mine.

I have found one way to get miners is to have a bus stop at the train platform and then go to the mine. It is usually full. I also find that most of the coal areas can support two or three mines. That seems to work better for me than one mine which I attempt (usually unsuccessfully) to keep full of workers. None of them ever get full, but among them I get enough coal to keep a power plant and steel mill running. I then run three mines into an "aggregate" storage for coal ore which feeds into the coal processing plant. The storage buffers the input so that there is always something for the plant to process.

There are a few places where you can build coal mines and get one or two apartments close enough for workers to walk. The problem is that it is very difficult to get enough amenities in the same spots to keep the people from leaving.

You can from every building shown the foothpath, by activate the button in the menu.
And there you can see, how far the people move himself.

It took about an hour but I finally figured out how to get everything working. My mine says 0% quality. How can this be as it was yellow when I placed it?

I deleted it and built a new one. 22%.

How does this make sense?

I never had lunch. I am going to save the game and make a couple of sandwiches. Time for some Netflix as cable or satilight T.V. cost a rediculas price. I will check bake later.

To bad steam doesn't have a decent spell check.

Now it shows as powered. must be a... BUG! It took several minutes to sort itself.
