Moving a tower crane to a helicopter construction office
Is it even possible? I've produced a couple of tower cranes to be used by my new helicopter construction offices, but I can't get the truck to deliver the crane to the CO. I can't base an open truck at a helicopter construction office, so the normal route won't work.

Is the only way to get a tower crane to a helicopter construction office to buy it there?

You can not use 75m tower cranes in HeliCO, they are simply too big for them. You can use 45m.
2nd:
Not all vehicles can transport tower cranes, even not all of the open hulls - You need to sort them (trucks, open hulls) by capacity and use the biggest one without borders on its hull.
It should do the trick.

You have to buy the necessary helicopters first. Only then is a crane available from the helicopter construction office.

I can't find a fault with you. It should work.
Maybe because you have the big helicopter platforms. Try to build the little ones at the helicopter construction office.

Try attaching a cargo heliport to your vehicle production and transport the tower crane with a helicopter from there to the construction office.

Yes, there is a way to do this. You have to attach a heliport to a regular CO, similar to attaching the heliport to the asphalt or concrete plants. Once attached, you can land a helicopter there, load up the mechanism normally (same way you would load the mechanism onto a truck), and transfer the helicopter to the heli CO.

Thanks everyone! I finally figured it out.

The thing I was doing wrong is trying to move the 75m crane to the helicopter construction office. I checked the weight limit and figured it should work, but this is not true.

Having read through the tips here, I also tried a few things that did not work.

@Morpheus - Buying is no problem at all, but I was trying to move a tower crane I had produced in my own republic. It did work (with the smaller crane) with the triple platforms.

@viceroypenguin - You can not attach a heliport to a regular CO. You can tell when planning because the building does not turn green. Of course, you can build them next to each other, but they do not connect.

@johntarmac - Your tip gave me the most trouble!:
What's this? No option to load vehicles?

Never mind, it loaded a vehicle just fine. Sadly, it is a trolley bus, not a tower crane. Trolley buses do not go in COs. It does not seem to want to offload at a cargo platform with vehicle storage attached, either. Oh dear. I know, I'll export the trolley bus since it is a brand new vehicle! Look, the helicopter is back from the Western countries!

Unfortunately, so is the trolley bus. I ended up scrapping the helicopter. But then finally, a KMZ 5410 open hull was able to do the job!

@bajecznie nawdychany - Thank you for pointing out the size factor, which I had not considered!

Ah - you're correct. I'm so used to the modded COs which do have a heliport capture range that I forgot that the vanilla CO does not have one. Sorry! :)
