Hostels/student accommodation?
What are they for? I always build one or two next to my universities out of habit, but I'm not sure what they do. Why would I use those as opposed to just normal housing?

You can take suitable candidates from other buildings and relocate them there and they will not look for a job, only study, and they'll vacate the hostel after graduating if they can find a spot elsewhere.

it's mostly to speed up the teaching of new professionals by forcing old people to go to the university instead of work. something that stops being a problem when the little genius comrades start getting their graduate degrees when they are 15 years old.

however, i heard that hostels are a good way to redistribute people around since people who graduates from the U and was living in an hostel is relocated anywhere not just close to the hostels, but i'm not sure of this last info.

Yes, once educated they will leave the hostel for any open housing on the map

You can also expand the range of an university.
People who cant reach the university by foot might be able to move to the hostel when the hostel is between their home and the university.

It sound very convenient to have people move across the republic, but generally all my houses are full anyway and there is no way to control this right?

A Hostel forces the people who live in it to continue to be classed as a Student, even after they would have otherwise found an empty apartment and become Workers.

Because of the 'find a new home' algorithm, you'll want to put student residences in your housing districts...people moving out of their parents' house will only find new homes within walking distance, but students will take mass transit to get to school; building a traditional campus is a fairly easy way to make sure your halls of residence are under-utilized.

what for are the two option icons in that student houses
im not sure it worth to build it before a huge city of 10 000
the university alone is a trouble at game start
without their is nomore teachers and it cost a lot in graduated imigrant
and the overcapacity and the expensiveness of the building make it scaled only when 10 000
why their is no a little highter school
like the childgarden and basicschool both have already a big capacity at start
is the medical university still of no use after the nuke update
why by the hell the nuke factory dont requiert researchs
is the nuke more easy than chemical or mecanical or electricity
it sound craz

I'll break down what I can...

If you mean the two buildings...they do the same thing, the only difference is shape.

It's a huge expense so playing on medium or hard you have to time it carefully, but there's a major benefit beyond just not having to import doctors/teachers: The more educated someone is, the slower their 'work shift' timescale becomes, so you can run a much bigger economy on the same number of workers. I like to start construction way too soon, pausing and unpausing so the construction office doesn't bankrupt me trying to take it materials.

No idea. I think they're modeled after real buildings...space-wise, the most efficient one is the Technical.

It can still only create Experts, yeah...same for the Party HQ. Research is largely placeholder...I know there's been talk of having more things locked at game start, but I'm not sure where how close it is to the front of the line.

I don't remember those buttons off the top of my head, I'd have to look! Sorry I misunderstood.

And yeah, their 'production' capacity is overwhelming. Maybe it's just because I don't build huge cities, but I've never hit a situation where I built a second university because the first was full...only ever when the first is too far away to commute to.

As is I have one uni and it turned my whole immigrant town into specialists, now I have to send only doctors to my distant outposts cause I can't find any non-university workers to relocate.

The cost of educated workers adds up pretty fast, and youll always need some teachers at least, so the cost of a uni is always worth it, as soon as you have a town big enough to staff it.
tripodalt (Banned) Jun 19, 2020 @ 8:47pm
yes because the game is easy even in hardest seting
but if we played with zero money only loans
then the cheap home of the workshop will make sens
then a new university will be necessery and from i know no modders made it
PinkPonyGirl Jun 20, 2020 @ 12:10am
It is a mistery - a part of the built in plot just like Bella Goth in Sims.
My university dorms are somehow full at one point of the game and than they are empty and than they full again. Maybe when you are demolishind a house, people moove to the hotels and wait until the new one being built. Or maby students prefere regular apartments, when possible.
