What bothers me is resource placement, iron and coal are half of the time "next to hills" rather than in hills, and that is just weird. I guess oil can be anywhere, I don't know about uranium.
And for map being uncanny, it seems that it makes strict distinction what is "hill", "lake" or "plain" and does not interpolate between this much which is very visible on the map. Also it would be nice if had more control over granularity (something like the "diamond" value in level editor)
Or in best case various levels of granularity, like make part of map more "hilly" and other more "mixed" etc.
I doubt it but that would be a fun project
