This. And replace all chain signals *except* the one entering the diamond with default one-way.
I suggest you just set way point for each of the rail paths.
The game current coding for rail decision is the shortest path which would more than often leads to train going puzzled(half the time they are going bonkers when looking for a refuel...).
Also try to build one way loops to ensure trains do not "zip up the wrong lines"

I can't make anything off the pre signalling. so I do not use them, also I try to avoid multiple trains on a single track and make sure there is only one train running on a single track(this even applies on single direction path rails)
