Conveyor systems
I have two conveyors coming out of my coal processing plant, one goes to the power plant, one goes to aggregate storage. When it's set up like this it will only ever run coal to storage and never to my power plant. I can't find any setting to split tonnage between conveyors. I also tried using a conveyor engine and splitting it from there except it had the same issue. As a test I turned off the storage conveyor and forced coal to only go to the plant but it just shut off completely. Not sure why. Plant storage has no coal, so it's not because it's full

Your connect is probably broken. Click on the conveyor and see if there is a connection symbol at the power plant. Sometimes it doesn't connect properly. It is also better to have it go from the storage to the power plant, and to use an engine in between to force feed the power plant to keep it at maximum capacity.

Should be connected, because when I demolish the conveyor that runs to the storage, the power plant conveyor starts up. I'll try running from the storage to power instead though.

The problem is that it is trying to fill both storages at the same percentage, so it appears as though none is going to the power plant as it's storage is much smaller than the aggregate storage. I think with that set up none will actually go to the power plant until the aggregate storage is full. You should have the coal going into to the aggregate storage first and then out to your power plant for it to work better

Now that I think about it, realistically it makes more sense to have power plant fed from the storage. Thanks for your help guys. I'll rework my set up.
yeah I always do processing > storage > power plant. If you are splitting the output of the storage you might want an engine between it and the power plant

Yeah I was planning to export processed coal. I'll make sure to add one for the truck loading.

Here is anthing easier solution: Processing –> Large storage –> Engine –>
1. Train loading
2. Small aggregate storage –> [optional: engine –>] power plant

The engine will push as much as it can into the loading area and the small storage and keep a big buffer for you

Oh that's a good idea. I just switched my conveyors around and everything is working now. I'll keep that set up in mind once I reach that point.

This is a very easy way to keep extra for local use and export the rest to another city or country. I do this with gravel and iron as well.

Yeah I frequently use storage systems now in between processes, incase there is an upset anywhere in the line, operations can continue behind which ever system went down and just keep storing material. Also gives more options to run conveyors out when you need them. You guys have been a big help. I appreciate it.
