Do I buy buses???

I put down these bus stations, but it doesn't offer up the opportunity to buy buses???

I see the number of people waiting going up and down, but I don't know if they are catching some magic bus (Who reference intended) or if they are just giving up and going home?

And that leaves the question ... do I need to build residences by every factory complex, or will they take the bus (once I get that working) from one bus depot to the next, work, and then take a bus back home? OR do they HAVE to be within walking distance of the facility they work at?

You buy vehicles in a road depot.

Once you get a bus/train station, they will check to see if the can find jobs/ meet needs in walking distance othwise they will go to station. They will go even if there are no buses, you buy them from a road depot.

You can tell workers from each apartment where they should go to work (up to 5 different places) or let them decide. You can assign a bus station, and they will go there and try to commute to a job. Remember they have a maximum wait and travel time, no 12 hour commutes! I can post some pictures if you're still having trouble.

Try the in-game tutorial. I remember the very first part describes the transportation of people by buses.
