Bitumen and fuel train loading
How do you guys load bitumen or fuel in to a train wagon? Can you post a picture someone?
For me it´s not working through a silo. Train is just standing when asked to fill to 100% or moving slowly when not to 100% and then leave empty.

Liquids don't flow upwards on their own, you need a pump.

The usual sequence is: refinery -> pump -> storage tank -> pump -> filling station.

Edit: Obviously, you have to use separate lines for bitumen and fuel, even if you are using the same loading station.

That is exactly what I do and it works great. You may be able to skip one set of the pumps but I haven't tried it. I'm not willing to mess with a good thing that is working!

This is the setup I have - don't be a fool like me and box yourself in right againt the border.

Thanks guys :) I was confused because it goes to storage tank without a pump (im succesfully loading it for trucks and selling). But when i tried to pump it to a filling station, it showed only 1,1 t of fuel available. Without pump it showed whole 300 t.
Will try it today with your scheme. thanks again

Any time! Post some pics of your setup when you get it going, I love seeing what other people come up with!

Make sure you build a storage tank for both bitumen and fuel! They can't mix (tip, build them and assign what they hold before you connect them or your very intelligent comrades will turn the valve on and fill them with the same thing!)

yup, i set it separately before :)

You dont actually. I had 2 fuel tanks and one bitumen tank feeding onto a 3 into 1 pump and then into the loading station. No issues, beyond the usual balancing output between the two.

Oh... good to know.

Just remember if you go this way to set up the storage tank first, then tell the tank what to store, then connect in your piping. Only way to control what goes in each tank

I had to learn it the hard way XD

The Oilloadingstation counts as connected to an refinery if you have pipelines there, no pump needed. But than you can only use the internal storage. If you whant to use an storage tank, you need a pump to creat a float of oil/bitumen. I have 2 trains and a mixed signal one/two rail area for export. Onetrain bitumen, one fuel. The reason is that both are produced unequaly. Near the export point i have another Oilloadingstation and Tank, so my trains can load oil there on the way back, to save delivery costs and comepensate for my lack of oil production.
